India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a series of landmark agreements to deepen cooperation in defence, energy security, infrastructure, and advanced technologies during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Abu Dhabi. The agreements mark a significant expansion of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations and reinforce their growing geopolitical and economic alignment.

A key outcome was the establishment of a Strategic Defence Partnership framework covering defence industrial collaboration, advanced technology development, joint training and exercises, maritime security, cyber defence, and secure communications. The partnership is expected to open new opportunities for joint manufacturing and innovation in the defence sector.

In the energy sector, both countries signed agreements to expand UAE participation in India’s Strategic Petroleum Reserves, enhance long-term LPG supplies, and strengthen energy security cooperation. The UAE also committed approximately $5 billion in investments across Indian infrastructure and financial sectors, further boosting bilateral economic ties.

The partnership also extends to maritime infrastructure, technology, artificial intelligence, supply-chain resilience, and long-term investment collaboration, reflecting the strategic importance of the India-UAE relationship in an evolving global landscape.
