The HCL Group–Foxconn joint venture has appointed Taiwan-based engineering company CTCI Corporation as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner for its semiconductor facility in Uttar Pradesh. The project marks a major milestone in India’s semiconductor manufacturing ambitions and strengthens collaboration between Indian and Taiwanese technology ecosystems.
The ₹3,706 crore facility will operate as an OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Testing) plant focused on manufacturing display driver chips used in smartphones, laptops, automobiles, PCs, and other display-enabled devices. The unit is being developed in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, and is expected to play a strategic role in reducing India’s dependence on imported semiconductor components.
CTCI’s selection brings global infrastructure and semiconductor project execution expertise to the venture. The partnership reflects accelerating progress under India’s semiconductor mission, with the project moving from planning to implementation as India seeks to establish itself as a trusted global electronics and chip manufacturing hub.
Why This Matters
