India and Germany have finalized a Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap during Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s official visit to Berlin. The agreement focuses on expanding bilateral defence ties through co-development, co-production, and technology collaboration in advanced military systems.

The roadmap identifies priority areas such as advanced radar systems, AI-enabled unmanned aerial systems, sensor technologies, naval capabilities, cyber security, and next-generation weapon systems. Both countries also signed an implementing arrangement for cooperation in UN Peacekeeping Training, strengthening military-to-military engagement.

Germany has also expressed confidence in finalizing a major $8 billion submarine cooperation deal involving German defence company ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, which would significantly strengthen India’s naval modernization efforts.

The partnership reflects deepening strategic alignment between India and Germany as both nations seek resilient defence supply chains, technology collaboration, and long-term industrial cooperation amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
