Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that India is on track to become fully self-reliant in the defence sector and emerge among the top defence nations globally. He highlighted that India’s defence production reached a record ₹1.51 lakh crore in FY2024-25, while defence exports hit an all-time high of ₹38,424 crore in FY2025-26, reflecting strong growth in indigenous capabilities.

The minister also pointed out that cities like Lucknow are emerging as key defence manufacturing hubs (Defence Nodes), with projects such as BrahMos missile production already underway. Multiple new defence manufacturing units are being established, supporting India’s push toward Atmanirbhar Bharat in defence.
