India and the United States signed the Pax Silica Declaration during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, marking a major step in strengthening cooperation in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and critical technology supply chains. The agreement aims to build a trusted technology ecosystem and secure global supply chains across the full “silicon stack,” including critical minerals, chip manufacturing, and AI infrastructure.
The pact aligns India with a US-led coalition of partner countries working to reduce over-reliance on single-country supply chains and to promote secure, democratic technology development. It also includes an India-US AI Opportunity Partnership, expanding collaboration in emerging technologies and advanced manufacturing.
